Britney Spears Second Baby Is Cause For Big Bouquets Of FlowersCopyright © 2006-2008 Wesley Berry, AAFThere's been a baby boom in the world of entertainment, and the latest of these little stars is Sutton Pierce, the son of pop mega-star Britney Spears and her husband, rapper Kevin Federline. Baby Sutton was born on September 12th, 2006 via caesarean section some time around 2 a.m. He is the second son born to the couple; his older brother Sean Preston turned one-year-old just days after Sutton's birth. While the birth of the baby certainly makes Spears and her family deliriously happy, high-end gift retailers are probably thrilled, too. You see, the latest trend in gift giving is to give extravagant gifts at the birth of a new baby. According to The Miami Herald, it's become positively commonplace for people to give truly spectacular "push presents" to new moms. Common gifts include stunning rings studded with birthstones and precious jewels, necklaces sporting tiny baby shoes covered in diamonds, and expensive watches set on pink or blue crocodile skin bands. The Miami Herald talked to one father named Jeff Hochman who gave his wife diamond earrings, a pearl necklace, and a tennis bracelet after the birth of his three kids. Hochman said, "Gift giving is something people like to do; they're just looking for an occasion. And to buy a pure luxury item for your wife, if you can, is a way of showing her she's special." Well, Hochman is certainly right about people and gifts-we do love to give them! And, for many people, the act of giving is even more gratifying than the act of receiving. Such feelings extend to gifts of all sorts, from the terribly expensive and very showy, to the less expensive, but equally heartfelt. Speaking from experience, I know how excited and happy people are to receive flowers; it's evident in the smiles of those who gratefully accept the gifts sent by their loved ones. It never matters how big or small the gift is-the reaction is the same regardless of whether it's just a few flowers in a pretty vase or a bouquet so huge it barely fits through the door. There is always a smile and it's often accompanied by squeals of delight, tears of joy, or laughter. Considering how thrilling it is to get flowers, just think how great it feels to give them. No wonder flowers are among the most commonly given gift at the birth of a baby. And, since huge presents are all the rage among the well-off set, Britney Spears must have received a garden full of roses to congratulate the birth of her brand new baby boy. About The Author:
