Oprah Winfrey and 1-800-flowers Agree That Preston Bailey Is An Outstanding Designer

Oprah Winfrey has frequently relied on floral and event designer Preston Bailey to help her throw some of the most lavish and beautiful events. Now, it seems, Bailey has drawn the eye of 1-800-Flowers.com, too.

Bailey has spent 25 years designing elegant floral arrangements and lavish events. His expertise has garnered business from notables like Winfrey and many others, such as Donald Trump, Joan Rivers, Donna Karan, Liza Minnelli, Laurence Fishburne, Bill Cosby, Matt Lauer, Michael Douglas, and Catherine Zeta-Jones. He has also made numerous television appearances and contributed his expertise to many magazines.

In an attempt to delve into the upscale luxury market, 1-800-flowers.com recently welcomed Bailey to their team. The goal is to encourage purchases from customers living in metropolitan areas and making more than $100,000 per year in income.

Monica Woo, president of 1-800-flowers.com, had this to say of the relationship, "Preston is an exceptional designer, and we are proud to have this opportunity to offer his innovative, over-the-top floral creations and beautiful tableware to our customers."



Bailey's expertise will be put to use in the company's "Expert Designer Collection," which also includes designers Jane Carroll, Nico De Swert, Julie Mulligan, and Jane Packer. Through this collection, the company hopes to offer its customers "good, better, best" products with upscale bouquets for autumn.

Bailey's designs for the collection will include such fall arrangements as:

  • Autumn Stroll: An arrangement of yellow mini callas, craspedia, equinacia, bottom, and fern sprouts bound together with hand-tied raffia. The arrangement sells for $125.

  • Harvest Spice: This $100 arrangement includes Amazone and Lipstick roses, sprays of yellow freesia, hypericum, and craspedia.

  • Sunrise: A sunrise-colored bouquet of Sari and Spice roses, orange gloriosas, and seeded eucalyptus. Retails for $95.

  • Enchantment: A $175 hand-tied bouquet of purple Curiosa roses, blue hydrangea, dark blue Delphinium, Belladonna, blue lisianthus, and purple Brassica cabbage.

    In addition to gorgeous flower arrangements, 1-800-flowers.com is also offering some of Preston Bailey's tableware, like candy dishes, votives, wine glasses, and champagne flutes.

    Judging by the beautiful floral arrangements being offered, it's really no surprise that big stars like Oprah Winfrey turn to Preston Bailey to help them celebrate major events in their lives. With Bailey on their team, 1-800-flowers.com is sure to have a reason to celebrate, too.
