The Downside of A Home Body Detox And What You Can Do To Aide In It

Copyright © 2008-2009 John Khu

As with most things in life even when it comes to our health, there are downfalls or things that can make us uncomfortable, even when it comes to a home body detox program. Detoxifying your body is definitely essential; however, there are certainly things that you must be aware of as well, while you are on this detox.

You may come down with ailments and before you jump into the program, there are definitely things that you need to be made aware of. Home body detox programs are designed to rid your system of all the toxins and the chemicals that make you feel bogged down and tired. Not to mention there are also those sleepless nights and times where you are either really gassy or constipated. All of these are symptoms of a system in need for cleaning. Wouldn't you agree?

Just so that you know before you begin the program, here are some things that you may experience and want to take heed of:

  • sinus mucus

  • pimples and itching

  • headaches

  • indigestion

  • loose bowels and maybe even constipation

  • anxiety and uneasiness

  • confusion

  • muscle and joint discomfort

  • bad breath

  • darker than usual urine

  • lack of concentration

  • You may or may not experience any of these symptoms; however, there is a chance that you will, especially if you try to do a quick home body detox verses one that enables you to go through a process and is so much easier on your body. It is important to remember that your body needs to omit all of the toxins associated with alcohol, cigarettes, and caffeine as well. This means that while you are on the home body detox program, it would defeat the whole purpose if you continue consuming these toxins.

In fact the best time to really begin the detox is when you have given yourself ample time to at least slow down on consuming these toxins, because you need to be totally prepared to go on with the home body detox without stressing your body out more than it needs to be.

You should also rest and take it easy before you begin the home body detox. The reason for this is so that your body is better prepared. Not to mention, it would probably be the best to go ahead and begin the detox when you have a couple of days off from work, such as the weekend. The first two days are crucial and really gets your body adjusted to the changes that are taking effect. Not to mention, you will also notice that the side effects will take place on these days, so starting the home body detox is best when under less stress and when your body is relaxed. Wouldn't you agree?

Water helps with these side effects as well. Try taking deep breaths and practicing breathing techniques as well. They say that the best way to breathe is to breathe with your stomach. Breathe into your belly and exhale through your nose. If you take about 7 seconds to inhale and 8 to exhale, you will see that you will feel calm. It also gets oxygen to all parts of the body. It enhances your metabolism, thus rids more toxins and increases your energy as well.

As with any new diet including the whole body detox, it is best to contact a health care professional before beginning. There is more to know about the effects of this detox.
