Private Label Bottled Water for Beach Businesses

Copyright © 2008 Jon M. Stout

As summer approaches, more and more people are inclined to think about trips to the beach and beach vacations. Spending time at the beach is a great way for individuals and families to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

Trips to the beach are a great American pastime and many people repeat visits to the same beach year after year. But there are many newcomers who want to enjoy the sun and the water.

Many businesses have grown around beach areas as enterprising businesspeople try to take advance caused by the large increase in services and goods demanded by the large increase in visitors. At most beaches many companies compete for the same market and word of mouth advertising is very important to the success of a beach business.

One of the best ways to generate effective word of mouth advertising and brand recognition, is the use of private label bottled water. High quality private label water will send a clear brand image and reach a large audience if the bottles are promoted properly. Many businesses create a quality label with a clear message and compelling offer and pass out the private label water directly to individuals on the beach.

Since many individuals often get dehydrated, ice cold water will attract greater attention and serve as a powerful advertising tool. If you want to send a message that separates your company from the competition and generates word of mouth advertising then chose branded water. And the cost is low particularly when compared to print advertising and towed airplane banners that are so prevalent on beaches.

Often, private label bottled water can be used to promote restaurants, hotels, nightclubs, rental services (car, motorcycles and even temporary furniture) and the water can also be consumed by many at the event , restaurant or night club. Pure water is an especially appealing drink for those who do not chose to drink alcohol because of health or public safety reasons.

It should be remembered however, that an image of quality is paramount and is critical when dealing with branded water. As powerful a brand builder that custom labeled water is, it can also destroy a brand message if bad tasting water or cheap and shoddy labels and bottles are used.

The unit price of private labeled water decreases and the volume purchased increases so beware of vendors who offer a very low price but demand that you fill your water needs in a small number of shipments. Contract with vendors who are established, with a good reputation, who have a record of performance and will hold your water in their plant, releasing it against an agreed upon schedule. This will save you storage costs and aggravation.

Lastly, contract with vendors who offer consistent, professional label design and an attractive bottle that remains standard throughout the life of the contract. Avoid those vendors who deal in the spot market to get the best price but then deliver you a shabby, disappointing product.
