The Link Between Mel Gibson And The Flower Industry
What do Mel Gibson and the flower industry have in common? Legal
woes. One July 28, 2006 Mel Gibson was arrested for driving under
the influence of alcohol. And, to make matters worse, he landed
himself in the public eye for spewing a tirade of anti-Semitic
remarks. Although the legal woes of the floral industry aren't
quite as dark, they are fraught with tension and resulted in a
year's worth of legal proceedings.

Recycled Products Make Unique Gifts
Recycling has been around for some time, but these days a greater
number of people are taking a more serious approach to their
recycling. With all the talk of global warming and greenhouse
emissions, people are starting to think about how they can
minimize the effects of these conditions on the environment. The
greatest help has come from raising awareness, through the
education of our primary school students, with environmental
sustainability and recycling being hot topics taught in our
classrooms.

Nicolas Cage Movie And Florists Help Commemorate September 11
The release of the movie World Trade Center, starring Nicolas
Cage, was only one of the many ways Americans commemorated the
five-year anniversary of the terrorist attacks on America. Around
the country people held ceremonies, special church services, and
donned red, white, and blue to show their pride in America and
the heroes of 9/11. Many florists did their part, too. Some
florists added small personal touches to their services while
others said, "We remember" in larger ways.

Made in the USA
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is charged with preventing
deception and unfairness in the marketplace. The FTC Act gives
the Commission the power to bring law enforcement actions against
false or misleading claims that a product is of U.S. origin.
Traditionally, the Commission has required that a product
advertised as Made in USA be "all or virtually all" made in the
U.S.

Funerals Arranged Faster Than A Wikipedia Search Hurt Florists And Funeral Homes
It's a fact of life-we want everything fast and easy. Our world
is all hustle and bustle and we find ourselves trying to cram 34
hours of activity into a 24-hour day. To combat our
ever-increasing responsibilities, we look for quicker ways to
accomplish our tasks, like using the Internet site Wikipedia to
gather information on everything from historical events to
current entertainers. Sadly, it seems the want for quick
solutions has even stretched to funeral planning. Now, florists
and funeral directors in Connecticut are working together to
combat the growing trend.

Flower Growers In Shakira's Home Country Affected By U.S. Immigration Reform
Pop singer Shakira was born in Colombia, which is the number one
importer of fresh flowers to the United States. While foreign
countries sometimes seem to have so little to do with our lives
here in America, our country's decisions regarding immigration
and guest-worker programs very greatly affects the livelihood of
the hundreds of Colombians working in the floriculture industry.
But, if the Agriculture Coalition for Immigration Reform (ACIR)
has anything to say about it, Congress will see the very great
need we have for a good solution to the immigration question.

We Won't Be Doing Much Business On A Dead Planet
It is a sad but true fact: we won't be doing much business on a
dead planet. The pristine beauty of our planet is at risk of
being destroyed. What has taken hundreds of millions of years to
elaborate could be forever gone within a few decades because of
the negative impact the human species has on planet Earth.

Energy Costs May Cost You Your Youtube And Your Flowers, Too
We're all struggling with rising energy costs. For some, that
could mean giving up the luxuries we enjoy, like the Internet
connection that allows us to use YouTube. But, for people in the
flower business, the cost could be even higher.

Osama Bin Laden is dead. Or at least that is what Benazir

Baby Boomers - A Healthcare Crisis Nears
Baby boomers are quickly approaching retirement age, and as they
do, there are a number of concerns that need to be addressed,
particularly in the area of healthcare. Unfortunately, there
appears to be no easy answers to the healthcare problems that
baby boomers, and the population in general, will face in the
very near future.

Learn the Art of Tracking the Wiley Human Being
I've spent many hours in the very hot sun and in very tough
environments tracking human beings through some of the roughest
terrain I believe has ever been tromped across by man. There is
nothing more exciting than the chase and nothing better than
succeeding in finding what or who you are looking for.
